These terms govern your use of Scrinly. Using the API means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you may bind it.
The service
Scrinly is an API that loads a publicly accessible or authorised URL in a real browser and returns visual evidence such as screenshots, ordered regions, comparison results, monitoring records, and optional Visual Style Guides. It is sold as a subscription with a monthly allowance of credits, and access begins immediately on subscribing.
Your account
- You are responsible for everything done with your API keys. Treat them as passwords; rotate them from the dashboard if one is exposed.
- One account per organisation. Do not resell access or act as a front for other people's requests without telling us.
- We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or the acceptable use policy, and will tell you why.
How you may use it
You may point Scrinly at pages you own, operate, are authorised to analyse, or that are publicly accessible and whose terms permit it. You are responsible for having that right — we cannot determine it for you, and by submitting a URL you confirm you hold it.
The acceptable use policy forms part of these terms. In particular you may not use Scrinly to access what you are not entitled to, to reproduce a third party's site or content as your own, or to collect personal data about individuals.
Output belongs to you, subject to any rights the source site holds in its own content. Scrinly claims no ownership of what it returns to you.
Credits and billing
- Credits are charged before work begins and refunded automatically when a request fails, so you are billed for outcomes rather than attempts.
- Allowances refresh monthly on your billing date and do not roll over.
- Billing is handled by our payment provider as merchant of record; their terms cover the transaction itself, including tax and refunds.
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice; a change never applies to a period already paid for.
Availability
We aim for high availability but do not offer an uptime guarantee on self-serve plans. Rendering a third-party page depends on that page being reachable and well-behaved, which is outside anyone's control. A failed render is refunded; that is the remedy.
Liability
Scrinly is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before it arose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
You indemnify us against claims arising from URLs you submitted that you had no right to submit.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the API after that means accepting them. Questions: hello@scrinly.com.
